The Role
The Marketing Manager (Music Tech) is responsible for planning, executing, and optimising paid media and digital marketing campaigns for Motive Unknown’s Music Tech clients. This role focuses on driving audience acquisition, customer conversion, and revenue growth across full funnel initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of paid media platforms, data analysis, and digital strategy, with an eye for identifying new opportunities for scaling campaigns and optimising performance.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement growth-focused marketing strategies for clients, prioritising customer acquisition, conversion, and retention.
- Plan and execute paid media campaigns across Google Ads (Search, Display, YouTube, Shopping) and Meta (Facebook & Instagram), as well as other platforms like TikTok Ads, Snapchat Ads, and Reddit Ads as needed.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop compelling creative assets and messaging that align with campaign objectives.
- Manage client budgets ensuring efficient allocation and spend pacing.
Performance & Reporting
- Monitor and analyse campaign performance to ensure KPIs are met, including ROAS, CPA, CTR, and overall conversion metrics.
- Provide regular reports with actionable insights, highlighting opportunities for optimisation and growth.
- Conduct A/B testing and implement data-driven improvements across paid media campaigns.
- Track and measure campaign performance using tools like Google Analytics (GA4), Agency Analytics, and platform dashboards.
Technical Implementation & Tracking
- Set up and manage ad platform conversion tracking and events, including Meta and Google tracking pixels.
- Support the implementation of Google Tag Manager containers and dataLayer events to ensure accurate performance tracking.
- Defining event tracking strategy to align with business goals.
Ecommerce & CRM Integration
- Work with ecommerce platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce) to integrate marketing channels and optimise the customer journey.
- Ensure accurate product feed management in Google Merchant Centre and Meta Product Catalogues.
- Collaborate with clients on CRM growth initiatives, including signup forms, automations, and basic lifecycle marketing.
Client Communication & Collaboration
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing clear and regular communication on campaign performance and strategy.
- Collaborate with the Head of Growth to present strategic recommendations and performance insights to clients.
- Maintain strong client relationships and ensure client satisfaction by delivering high-quality service and results.
Innovation & Industry Awareness
- Stay informed of emerging platforms, tools, and technologies in the growth marketing and eCommerce space.
- Proactively propose new ideas, channels, and tactics to help clients reach their growth objectives.
- Contribute to Motive Unknown’s collective knowledge by sharing learnings and best practices with the wider team.
Deliverables
- Paid Media Campaign Plans — Comprehensive paid media strategies tailored to client objectives and budgets.
- Performance Reports — Regular reporting on campaign performance, with clear insights and recommendations.
- Tracking & Technical Setup — Accurate implementation of tracking pixels, tags, and eCommerce integrations.
- Client Presentations & Recommendations — Strategic proposals and performance reviews delivered to clients.
- Process & Workflow Improvements — Contributions to internal best practices and process documentation.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in managing paid media campaigns, particularly across Google Ads and Meta platforms.
- Hands-on experience running conversion campaigns with clear KPIs (ROAS, CPA, CTR).
- Solid understanding of Google Analytics (GA4) and ad platform conversion tracking processes.
- Experience with Google Tag Manager, Google Merchant Centre, and product feed optimisation.
- Proficient in spreadsheets (Google Sheets, Excel) for budgeting, analysis, and reporting.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Familiarity with ecommerce platforms such as Shopify and WooCommerce.
- Basic understanding of CRM tools (Mailchimp, Klaviyo, MailerLite) and email list growth strategies.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience working with other paid social platforms (TikTok Ads, Snapchat Ads, Reddit Ads, Twitter Ads).
- Experience managing and optimising Google Shopping feeds and Facebook Product Catalogues.
- Knowledge of dynamic ecommerce campaigns and remarketing strategies.
- Basic video editing or graphic design skills (Photoshop, Canva).
- Experience conducting test-and-learn plans to inform long-term growth strategy.
